Switzerland Joins Scehngen Area
Switzerland added its name to the list of countries that have adopted the Schengen Agreement became the 25th member of the Schengen group.
- Non-visa exempt foreign nationals traveling to Switzerland will now need to apply for a Schengen visa for traveling to Switzerland.
- Individuals already in possession of a current Schengen visa are allowed to enter Switzerland with the existing Schengen visa.
- The travel benefits also extend to foreign workers in Switzerland, who may now travel to other Schengen area countries using only their passports and Swiss residence permits.
